Established in 1992 the directors of S&B identified a requirement for a dedicated supplier of temporary fencing, pedestrian barriers and steel hoarding panels that could rapidly enclose construction projects in a safe manner and be highly re-usable. Within a short period S&B became the UK market leaders supplying the widest range of temporary fencing, steel hoarding panels and pedestrian barriers. This success was replicated in the Europe, the Middle East and the USA.  This success can be attributed to the companies strong commitment to providing the safest temporary fencing, pedestrian barriers and steel hoarding products at the most competitive prices.

Hoarding Panels

The owners of S&B have been involved with temporary fencing since the mid 1980’s and have had a strong influence over the design and features seen on systems throughout the world.

Key features on fence panels pioneered by S&B are fencing stabilizers, anticlimb mesh fascia, powershell high strength corners, powerwebb corner reinforcement gussets, powerjoint butt welded corners, roundtop welded panels and health and safety HSG 151 anti snag fence panels.

Other key developments were high strength concrete feet, high visibility blown plastic bases, solid recycled plastic bases, varihole rubberized bases, safelift plastic bases and the ecobase which is the only recycled plastic base manufactured from 100% recycled products. 

S&B have been instrumental in converting the timber hoarding market to steel hoarding panel systems that improve the visual impact of a site with the advantage of having a massive re-use factor ultimately preserving the worlds natural resources.  The benefit to the user is the cost savings that can be as high as 90% saving over a 5-year period.

 

Pedestrian Barriers

 The S&B steel hoarding revolution began in 1995 with the development of the worlds first continuous re site-able solid steel fence system. The product has been a huge success winning numerous technical and environmental awards.
It remains the world market leader and is sold over 4 continents. S&B have introduced and developed  steel hoarding panels for niche markets including Barricade and Silentsite noise barriers.  

Solid hoardings create high wind resistance and are therefore susceptible to blowing down if they are not correctly stabilized or fixed securely into the ground.  S&B  invented a wide range of fixings and stabilization systems that are fully certified by an independent body after physical wind tunnel testing at the BRE testing laboratories.  No other company go to these lengths to ensure the safety of their products.
