WINDJAMMER BACKSTAY SYSTEM
The UK's most stable freestanding hoarding system, developed for situations where ground penetration is not possible.

COMPONENTS
  • A heavy-duty backstay tube with a steel connector to each end.
  • A galvanised steel ground tube forming a robust foot tie that transfers the ballast weight down towards the ground.
  • CLINGON brackets provide a robust steel plate to transfer the pressure on the foot tie to the ground.
  • A spigoted base replaces the block at the base of the hoarding panel. It spaces the panels, incorporates an anti-lift bracket and provides a robust anchor for the foot tie.

INSTALLATION
The raked backstay tube is fixed to the top of the hoarding panel with the opposite end connecting to the ground tube. This in turn, links back to the spigot base at the foot of the hoarding forming a rigid triangle. S&B's engineers have calculated the optimum position for ballast weights along the ground tube to prevent overturning due to wind pressure that can load the hoarding panel from any direction.

ADVANTAGES
  • The base of the hoarding is tied rigidly to the ballast weights and therefore cannot slide in or out on itself resulting in hoarding failure.
  • Allows the installation of secure hoardings on surfaces where ground penetration is not possible.
  • Enables ballast to be positioned for maximum effect against wind pressure from all directions.
  • Offers significantly higher resistance to overturning than temporary fencing style backstay and tray systems or any other freestanding system.
